Janmark, Stars roll over Sabres 7-1

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Mattias Janmark had two goals and an assist, Esa Lindell added a goal and two assists and the Dallas Stars defeated the Buffalo Sabres 7-1 on Saturday

Jamie Benn and Radek Faksa each had a goal and an assist, and Remi Elle also scored for the Stars, who return home after a 3-0-1 trip. Benn extended his point streak to seven games.

John Klingberg tallied three assists and Jason Spezza had two. Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves for Dallas.

Flyers top Devils for sixth victory in 7

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Travis Konecny had a goal and an assist, Michal Neuvirth made 28 saves and the Philadelphia Flyers scored all of their goals in the first period in a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.

Ivan Provorov and Valtteri Filppula also tallied goals for the Flyers, who won their sixth in the last seven to move closer to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia entered the game ninth in the East, three points behind eight-placed Pittsburgh and the Rangers.

Rangers D Shattenkirk out indefinitely

NEW YORK (AP) Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will have surgery on his left knee and is expected to be out indefinitely.

The prized free-agent acquisition, who signed a four-year, $26.6 million deal to come to his hometown team, said Friday he has a meniscus tear in the knee that he has been playing through all season.

Famed Habs reporter Fisher dies at 91

MONTREAL (AP) Famed hockey writer Red Fisher, who covered the Montreal Canadiens for more than a half-century, has died. He was 91.

The Montreal Gazette, where he worked the last 33 years of his career, reported on Friday that Fisher had died.

Panthers win in OT, Gallant loses return

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) Aaron Ekblad helped the Panthers get a big win and spoil former coach Gerard Gallant's return to Florida.

Ekblad scored 40 seconds into overtime to give the Panthers a 4-3 victory over Gallant's new team, the Vegas Golden Knights, on Friday night.

Both clubs realize it's already time to start thinking about the postseason, and the Ducks have started their surge at the Kings' expense.

Pacioretty nets 2 as Canadiens beat Caps

WASHINGTON (AP) Two nights after Montreal Canadiens coach Claude Julien criticized his team's effort, the Canadiens made sure that didn't happen again.

On Wednesday, Montreal lost 4-1 in Julien's return to Boston, where he had long coached the Bruins. Against the Washington Capitals on Friday night, Julien had no complaints as his team broke a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 win.

Bergeron nets 3 as hot Bruins win again

NEW YORK (AP) A day after going without a shot on goal, Patrice Bergeron regained his scoring touch for the rolling Boston Bruins.

Bergeron scored three goals Thursday night for his second hat trick in less than two weeks, leading Boston to a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders that gave the Bruins at least a point for the 15th consecutive game.

Flyers honor Lindros, beat Leafs in OT

PHILADELPHIA (AP) On a night that belonged to Eric Lindros, the Philadelphia Flyers paid tribute to the Hall of Fame center with a gritty comeback.

Sean Couturier scored 18 seconds into overtime and the Flyers rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Thursday after retiring Lindros' No. 88 jersey.
