Mauro has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancers.

Analysis: Mauro is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games. Mauro was released by the Arizona Cardinals on March 16 and signed with the Giants on Monday.

The Arizona Cardinals have signed Benwikere to a one-year contract.

Analysis: The 6-foot, 190-pound Benwikere played the first three of his four NFL seasons with Carolina after the Panthers drafted him in the fifth round out of San Jose State. Benwikere has played in 39 NFL games, 13 as a starter, with two interceptions, 22 passes defensed, a sack, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He played in 14 games for Dallas last season after the Cowboys acquired him in a preseason trade with Cincinnati.

Hurns joined the Cowboys on Friday, three days after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Analysis: After initially signing with the Jaguars as an undrafted rookie out of Miami in 2014, Hurns got a $40 million, four-year contract extension after 64 catches for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 15 games during the 2015 season. But he has since been hampered by injuries. Hurns missed 11 games because of injuries during the past two seasons with the Jaguars because of a sports hernia and a high ankle sprain.
3/23/2018 Brock Osweiler, Mia, QB
Osweiler has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, where he will be reunited with coach Adam Gase. They were together when Gase was an assistant with the Denver Broncos in 2012-14. In Miami, Osweiler is expected to back up Ryan Tannehill.

Analysis: Osweiler went 0-4 as the Broncos' starter last season and has 25 career starts in six NFL seasons. With the Dolphins he replaces Matt Moore, a free agent after seven years as their backup quarterback. Tannehill is expected to return after missing all of the 2017 season following knee surgery.

Liuget will be suspended without pay for the first four games of the upcoming season for a violation of the NFL's doping policy.

Analysis: Liuget has been a fixture on the Chargers' defensive line since 2011. He started 12 games last season, getting 21 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. Liuget signed a five-year, $58.5 million extension with the Chargers in 2015.
3/23/2018 Michael Bennett, Phi, DE
Authorities issued a warrant Friday for the arrest of Bennett, accused of injuring a paraplegic woman as he tried get onto the field at last year's Super Bowl to celebrate with his brother. The Harris County district attorney's office said the warrant was issued after a grand jury indicted Bennett on a felony count of injury to the elderly.

Analysis: Bennett was a spectator at the game at NRG Stadium in Houston in February 2017 when he tried to get onto the field immediately afterward to see his brother, Martellus Bennett, a tight end for the Patriots at the time, officials said in a statement. Prosecutors allege he pushed through security personnel, including a 66-year-old disabled woman who had told him to use a different entrance to access the field.

The New York Jets have signed Pierre-Louis to a two-year contract.

Analysis: The 26-year-old Pierre-Louis has 84 career tackles in parts of four seasons with Seattle and Kansas City. He spent last season with the Chiefs after being acquired in a trade with the Seahawks for D.J. Alexander and had a career-high 41 tackles and two passes defensed in 14 regular-season games. He had six tackles in Kansas City's playoff loss to Tennessee.

Williams is returning to the Green Bay Packers to help replenish the secondary. The team signed the free agent cornerback on Friday.

Analysis: The 11-year veteran spent the first eight seasons of his career in Green Bay, intercepting 28 passes in 127 games including 99 starts. Williams played last season with Arizona after spending two years in Cleveland.

The Browns signed Gaines on Friday.

Analysis: Gaines has started 26 of 37 regular-season games in the NFL, recording 185 tackles and three interceptions. Last year, the Rams traded him and a second-round draft pick to Buffalo for wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Gaines started 11 regular-season games last season, but missed five with knee and shoulder injuries. He sat out the 2015 season with a foot injury.

Smith has surrendered to police on charges he violated a domestic violence restraining order. San Francisco police say the 28-year-old Smith turned himself in Friday and was booked on three misdemeanor charges of violating a court order to stay away from a domestic violence victim.

Analysis: Earlier this month, Smith pleaded not guilty to domestic violence and other charges and a judge issued a protective order prohibiting him from contacting the victim. Police say Smith violated the restraining order earlier this week. The Raiders released the linebacker days after his arrest on the domestic violence charges. He had been on the suspended list since late 2015 for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse.

The Eagles have agreed on a one-year contract with Wallace.

Analysis: The 31-year-old Wallace spent the past two seasons in Baltimore and had 52 catches for 748 yards and four touchdowns last year. The deal announced Thursday is reportedly worth up to $4 million.

Jones has been arrested in Los Angeles following a naked, bloody argument with his brother, Vikings receiver Cayleb Jones. A police spokesman says the player, whose legal name is Isaiah Avery Jones, was arrested Monday night after officers responded to a disturbance in downtown Los Angeles. Officer Luis Garcia says Jones was breaking glass doors and windows when officers arrived and was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism.

Analysis: Jones was the first of Buffalo's two second-round picks in 2017 after completing a prolific career at East Carolina. He set an FBS record with 399 career catches and broke the single-season reception mark with 158 in his final season. The production didn't carry over into Jones' rookie season as he struggled in attempting to take over the Bills' No. 2 receiver spot. He finished tied for third on the team with 27 catches and fourth with 316 yards. He added two TDs.

The Bears have matched the Packers' offer sheet for Fuller and signed the cornerback to a four-year contract worth a reported $56 million.

Analysis: The Bears weren't about to lose Fuller to a division rival for nothing after placing the $12.9 million transition tag on him earlier this month. A first-round pick of Chicago in 2014, Fuller struggled his first three seasons before breaking out with a strong 2017 campaign in which he recorded two interceptions and 22 passes defensed.

The 49ers have signed Cooper to a one-year contract.

Analysis: Cooper has bounced around the league since being taken by Arizona with the seventh overall pick of the 2013 draft, but was a serviceable 13-game starter at left guard for the Cowboys last season and should have a chance to hold down a similar role in San Francisco.

The Steelers have filled a void at safety by signing Burnett to a three-year contract. reports that the deal is worth $14.5 million.

Analysis: Burnett joins the Steelers following a productive eight-year run with the Packers in which he started 102 games and averaged over 85 tackles per season. The 29-year-old should maintain his status as a quality IDP defensive back as he takes over for the recently released Mike Mitchell in Pittsburgh.
3/20/2018 Ryan Grant, Ind, WR
Grant has signed a reported one-year, $5 million contract with the Colts, three days after he had a multiyear deal with the Ravens voided for a failed physical.

Analysis: Grant was forced to settle for the short-term deal with Indy after the Ravens red-flagged an ankle injury the former Redskins wideout suffered in the 2017 finale. He's never missed a game in his four-year career, however, and is coming off a season in which he set career highs of 45 catches, 573 yards and five touchdowns.

The Cowboys have acquired Olawale from the Raiders in a trade that also involves a swap of late-round draft picks.

Analysis: Ironically, Dallas brings in Olawale to replace Keith Smith after the latter recently signed a two-year contract with the Raiders. Olawale had spent six seasons in Oakland, recording 39 catches for 425 yards and three touchdowns while adding four rushing TDs over 77 total games.

The Jaguars have released Lewis, ending the tight end's 12-year tenure with the team.

Analysis: Jacksonville had picked up a $3.5 million option on Lewis last month, but the money was not guaranteed and the team has since added tight ends Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul in free agency. Though the 33-year-old hasn't caught more than 25 passes in any of the last five seasons, he's still a strong blocker who should draw some interest on the open market.

The Jaguars have released Hurns, a move that will save the team $7 million in 2018.

Analysis: The writing was on the wall for Hurns once the Jaguars brought back Marqise Lee and added Donte Moncrief in free agency. An undrafted find back in 2014, Hurns broke out with 64 catches, 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015, but has struggled with injuries and inconsistency since signing a four-year, $40 million extension following that big season.
